Jim Hudson, publisher of the Perryton Herald, 1950-2014

WTPA extends its condolences to the family of Jim Hudson, publisher of the Perryton Herald, who passed away yesterday.

Services will be on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Metzger officiating. Burial will follow in Ochiltree Cemetery.

James Rogers “Jim” Hudson was born on December 7, 1950 to Harold and Jane Hudson in Perryton, Texas.

Jim married Lina Kay Singleton on October 22, 1994 in Amarillo, Texas.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Perryton.

He was the past president of the Texas Press Association and the Panhandle Press Association. The past president of the Chamber of Commerce, member of the Perryton Lions Club, Kiwanis’s workhorse of the year. Served on the Perry Memorial Library board. And chairman of the Ranger Loan Fund.

He was an owner of the Perryton Herald and has served as publisher since 1991.

He is preceded in death by his father, Harold Hudson.

He is survived by wife, Lina Kay Hudson of Amarillo; his mother, Jane Hudson of Perryton; his brother, John Hudson and wife Janet of Seguin, TX.; and his sister, Mary Dudley and husband Bill of Perryton.
