Friday, July 18

  • 9 a.m.: Registration, Young County Arena Barclay Room, silent auction opens
  • 9:30 a.m.: Welcome to Graham
    (Refreshments provided by Chamber/CVB)
  • 9:45 a.m.: Session-“Visual Storytelling in Community Journalism”
    Award-winning Photojournalist Ian McVea
  • 10:45 a.m.: Session- “Advertising Roundtable”
  • 11:45 a.m.: Lunch, Barclay Room
    Speaker: Representative from Virginia’s House/CASA of Young County
  • Afternoon Free to explore Graham’s downtown square full of shops and boutiques, visit the Old Post Office Museum & Art Center, Lake Graham or Possum Kingdom Lake among other many activities (Ed Henninger will also be available Friday afternoon to give helpful tips on newspaper design-bring several papers for him to see)
  • 5-6 p.m: Reception at Barclay Room
  • 6 p.m.: Dinner
    Speaker: Dean Smith, actor, Stuntman Hall of Fame member, Olympic gold medalist and former pro football player; presentation of Harold Hudson Memorial Award sponsored by CenturyLink

Saturday, July 19

Graham is home to a lovely downtown square full of shops and boutiques offering everything from antiques to clothing, home decor, gift items, guns, ammo and more.

See the art collection at the Old Post Office Museum & Art Center, make an appointment to view the Robert E. Richeson Memorial Museum at Graham Municipal Airport, take in a film at the Graham Drive-In or at the historic National Theatre, then hit the lanes at Steer Bowl.

The city is also home to a rich history, including the historic courthouse and old courthouse arch. Take a drive to stroll through Fort Belknap and then visit on Lake Graham or Possum Kingdom Lake for fishing and activities.
