Fellow WTPA Member:
We’re looking for your best – best photo, best story, best advertisement and more from 2012. The WTPA is seeking entries for its 2013 Better Newspaper Contest, and you may have had the prizewinners on your newsstand this year.
We have the judges in place and they are looking forward to receiving your entries for judging.
Don’t wait! The deadline for submitting entries is Friday, April 5, 2013. Entries postmarked after that date will not be considered.
Enter as many categories as you wish for one low fee of $25 and be sure to include your check with your entries. We will confirm receipt of your entries and, as soon as the judges have made their decisions, winners will be notified.
Remember, your 2013 WTPA dues must be paid to qualify your newspaper for this year’s contest.
Plaques will be presented to first-place winners in each category. Certificates will be awarded to second and third. Honorable mention certificates will be presented to, as may entries, as the judges deem deserving. Judges’ critiques will be available immediately after the awards brunch, allowing you to see what you are doing well or where you might want to focus your efforts.
Please remember that the purpose of this contest is to help each one of us improve our craft. So please don’t put off what you can do now. Get your entries together early so you won’t have to look on from the audience as someone else claims the award that might have been yours. Remember, if you don’t enter, you can’t win!
